Greyhound Caudal Over Dorsal Muscular Structures

Description

I've been so busy lately I haven't had much time for drawings at all, and this is one of the reasons why. We had a group assignment where we had to dissect a system or area of a dog (greyhound) and connect structure and function. We also had to make a poster and give a 60 second 'grab' presentation. I was in a group of 5 and we chose the skeletal and muscular structures of the tail and I basically took control of the poster design and drew some images to show these structures (I was rather excited; it's already a rare thing for anyone to allow me to contribute to an assignment creatively even when I offer to help with it and this is the first time I've ever had a group actually hand over pretty much complete control of the visual creative side =D. Even this time when I showed outlines to them I got very surprised reactions from the group members; I don't think people believe me when I say I can draw alright -_- )

This is one of the muscular structures images, showing the overlying dorsal (top) muscles. All coloured muscles are relevant to movement of the dog's tail. It shows the following muscles:
Sacrocaudalis dorsalis lateralis
Sacrocaudalis dorsalis medialis
Intertransversarius dorsalis caudalis

The outlines are done first in lead pencil and then black felt-tipped pen, while the colouring is done in red and red-brown colour progressos.

Unfortunately the original photos had poor lighting so I had to change the brightness and contrast on photoshop. These pictures were completed on the 1st of September and are rare in that I did not put my signature on them.

... Still can't get over how much I'm learning from just looking at a drawing (It's like seeing the schematic diagrams here) :XD:.
