Piece 7
Whole HSC Body of work: 7 pieces. I took all the photos and drew from them, except for the 2nd piece; the lower image was taken of a nearby street in my suburb in the late 1990's. I did these works for an entire year in my last year of high school. This is exactly what I left as a label on BOW:
Title: Industrial Selection
Concept: The intervention of mankind on the natural environment and its responding metamorphosis. The pressing need to preserve nature and Earth
is expressed by relaying the gradual switch from what seems "right" to the environmentally-conscious eye to an increasingly Industrialised world. All sense of connection to nature is so distorted that we seem 'blinkered' and determined to carry out the expulsion of all beauty. There is a concentration on a restricted area from which the industrialised world is sourced. Yet with fading but still existing subtlety and the characterisation of each aspect of the natural world, the realisation of a dying world strikes the viewer, to resemble a message of increasing urgency in our current real-life progress in extinguishing the life of our world. The life that extends beyond our physical view.
Layout (way the artworks are meant to be displayed): Laid out in a straight line, in chronological order (as shown in picture). 4.5 cm between each work. Amount of light on artworks needs to be noted - images appear best when not in direct light.

EDIT: YEAHHHH.... I CHANGED IT AGAIN. AFTER VIEWING THE NEW UPLOAD, I QUICKLY REALISED THAT IT WAS NOT A COMPLETED IMAGE, BUT RATHER A PROGRESSIVE ONE. THIS ONE IS A LITTLE OVEREXPOSED, BUT IT IS FINISHED, AT LEAST. I WILL HAVE TO TRY AND GET A GOOD ONE SOON.
